Every Thursday night we show a movie in our cinema, (which is in the cellar), and a bunch of our friends are invited. Those who come get to view a random collection of varying movies, rate and review them and sometimes we have pizza.

We have had disc failure on one occasion, which meant we were unable to watch the movie on the night. As a result we now have ‘emergency movies’. These are movies that we have in our collection and can watch should we have a similar failure.

We also try to get hi-definition titles wherever possible, currently this means hiring Blu-ray, which can slow the arrival of release titles as lovefilm have fewer copies of movies in HD. (We waited for Juno for ages).
My intention is to move to an HD download service which would effectively solve the issues above. However this will have to wait until either AppleTV, XboxLive or the Playstation Network can offer a selection on a par with lovefilm.
